Eminent Domain Seminar - Wednesday, February 22, 2012 Law and Justice Center - 645 South 200 East, Salt Lake City
"Valuing Just Compensation"
Our 2012 Eminent Domain Seminar will focus on how appraisers determine the amount of just compensation that is to be paid to property owners. The Utah Supreme Court overturned its most recent decision related to eminent domain valuation in October of 2011 and set a new rule for condemnation damages. Three of Utah's most prominent MAI appraisers will lead our discussion after officlals from UDOT, Rocky Mountain Power, the Ombudsman's Office, and a private attorney highlight current issues in the acquisition of land for public works. Agency officials, local government leaders, real estate attorneys, utility managers, engineers, planners, and citizens will benefit from this training.
Our presenters include Phil Cook, MAI; Jon Cook, MAI; Troy Lunt, MAI; Lyle McMillan, Jeff Richards, Brent Bateman, Justin Makin, and Craig Call.
