The Utah Land Use Institute is committed to offering several educational opportunities during each year for those involved in the land use and planning aspects of our Utah communities. Many of our courses offer continuing education credit for lawyers, appraisers, contractors, real estate, and planners.
Land Use Law - The Utah Land Use Institute, in cooperation with the Utah League of Cities and Towns, is pleased to provide a six-hour basic introduction to land use regulation and law. This course will be taught by a seasoned land use attorney, depending on availability. Check out upcoming Land Use Law seminars.
Eminent Domain - This seminar specifically addresses the questions and concerns raised during a government action commonly called a "taking." This is a six hour course which discusses several issues about the appropriate use of the governmental "Police Powers" and the requirements which must be met when an agency or municipality uses the power of condemnation to acquire property interests and real property. Impact Fees - This seminar focuses on the newest state requirements for any municipality seeking exactions. Topics covered include: comprehensive plans, planning, budgeting, and disclosure requirements.
